About

An engineer who likes people.

I’m a full-stack engineer based in Bristol. I help teams ship dependable products and leave their codebases healthier than I found them.

I started building websites for local charities while studying computer science at the University of Bristol, and I never really stopped. Since then I’ve worked in agencies, scale-ups and finance teams, and led small engineering groups through launches, migrations and the occasional 2 a.m. incident.

What I enjoy most is the messy middle of a project: turning a vague idea into something people can click, then making it fast, accessible and easy to maintain. I’m at my best working closely with designers, product managers and the people who will use what we build.

Away from the keyboard you’ll find me on the Bristol–Bath railway path, in the kitchen testing a new dal recipe, or helping run a monthly beginners’ coding club at my local library.

Principles

What I care about

Clarity first

Plain language, readable code and honest estimates. If I can’t explain it simply, I haven’t understood it yet.

Everyone included

Accessibility isn’t a bolt-on. It is part of the definition of done on every project.

Light by default

Fast pages and small dependencies. The best code is the code you never have to ship.

Shared ownership

Clear documentation and generous handovers, so your team is never held hostage by mine.
