The challenge
Small teams wanted feature flags without paying enterprise prices or running a heavyweight platform.
The approach
Switchboard ships as a single static binary with an embedded SQLite database, a clean REST API and generated, fully typed SDKs, so adding a flag is a one-line change that the compiler can check.
The outcome
The project has grown to nearly two and a half thousand stars and a healthy contributor community, and it taught me a great deal about writing documentation people actually read.
